The Angels are treading water, but regardless of any changes Scioscia makes throughout the season, they will get better. They are a good team and that will show eventually. However, that doesn’t mean I don’t have an opinion. In my dream (but very scary) scenario where I am the Angels manager, there are four changes that I would make to the Angels roster.

Leading Off For The Halos

As you all know, Erick Aybar has taken over the job as lead-off man for the Angels this year, and so far so good. He is hitting .298 with a .389 on-base-percentage and 1 stolen base. This offseason, we lost Angel fan-favorite Chone Figgins to the Seattle Mariners. Last year, Figgins hit .298 with 101 walks, maintained a .395 on-base-percentage, and stole 42 bases. Most thought (and still probably think) that this Angels lineup, which was second in the American League in runs scored, would take a big hit. In seasons past, however, it wasn’t always easy for Figgins and other beloved Angel leadoff men. Here is a look back at other first full seasons for past Angel leadoff hitters.
