WOW! Did Torii get fired up or what? He’s suspended for four games, but we won the series against the Detroit Tigers. And that’s what we needed: a little passion. As a result, Jered Weaver pitched an awesome game, Fernando Rodney had a solid inning, and Brian Fuentes secured his 21st save of the year with two strike-outs.

We had a total of 18 players on base yesterday (17 via hits and a Rivera walk), but we were only able to bring in 7 runs. The game looked like it was out of reach in the after Ervin Santana was yanked in the fourth for allowing 9 earned runs

Mike Scioscia decided to experiment in the field yesterday, moving Howie Kendrick to first, Bobby Abreu to left, Torii Hunter to right, Miacer to second and added Peter Bourjos to center field. On top of that, we throw Trevor Bell, who looked good through 5 innings before getting pulled in the 6th.

The Angels just finished winning the weekend series against the Texas Rangers in Anaheim. But this seems like a small victory in a losing month. July really killed us. The Halos only won 9 of 26 games last month, and only really won 1 series (they won the series against Texas both entering and exiting July)

Angel fans, I think we owe John Lackey an apology for booing so loudly before the game, in between innings, and after he gave up the homerun to Bobby Abreu in the 8th. I mean…he did give us the Game 7 win in 2002.
